The rose has a rich symbolic life and in recent centuries has become closely associated with love, beauty and passion. This rose design is influenced by the artistic tradition of botanical illustration. It shows a single bloom on a parchment-like background.
Simone Sakinofsky is responsible for designing the red rose stamp and related products. Initially with the Australia Post Design Studio as a student designer, Simone joined the studio on completion of her studies at RMIT in 2005.
