Garden Flowers of Malaysia on new stamps

Images of colourful local flowers will adorn a new state series of stamps to be issued next Monday.

Entitled "Garden Flowers of Malaysia", the collection will replace the current series featuring Malaysia's agro-based products such as padi, black pepper and rubber.

These stamps were issued in 1986.

"The new series will be in circulation once the old ones are out of stock," said PosNiaga Philately senior manager Wong Lai Kim.

The new stamps are available in denominations of 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen, 30 sen, 40 sen and 50 sen.

They depict six flowers commonly found in gardens such as bougainvillea, sacred lotus, morning glory and hibiscus.

Date of Issue: 31 December 2007
