On 23 April, 2008, the 50th Anniversary of the Credit Union Movement in Ireland was marked by An Post, with the issue of a stamp.
The stamp features the logo of the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU). The ILCU represents and supports over five hundred and twenty-five affiliated credit unions, as well as promoting the credit union idea and ethos. The stamp and First Day Cover were designed by Ger Garland.
