Lithuanian Top Postage Stamp Chosen



The most impressive Lithuania postage stamps for 2007 have been chosen.

The competition, organized by the Philatelic Department of Lithuania Post, chose one which it felt stood out from all the rest for first prize. The stamp, which depicts "Ensemble of St. Ann and Bernardines churches in Vilnius" from the series "Churches of Lithuania" (painter – G. Luziniene) was declared the winner, receiving some 69872 votes.

Second place was the "1000th anniversary of Lithuania" block of stamps (painter – H. Ratkevicius) with 54446 votes.

The third place went to the joint Lithuanian-Belarusian stamp issue called "The nature of Cepkeliai and Katra reserves" No 474-475 (painters – V. Bruciene and A. Mityanin) with 50567 votes.
