50th Anniversary of Thailand - Turky Diplomatic Relations Commemorative Stamps

Memory of the Affiliation

The Republic of Turkey lies across two continents. 3% of the country is part of east Western Europe and the rest in Western Asia. Most of the population are Turks, using Turkish as their official language. Ankara is its capital. This secular state is ruled by republican parliamentary democracy under the leadership of a President, who is appointed by an election of the Grand National Assembly. Its Prime Minister, who serves as head of the government, is appointed by the President. Thailand and Turkey inaugurated their diplomatic relationship on May 12, 1958. The display of both stamp images, the 'Iron Castle' of Wat Rajannadda of Thailand, and the Blue Mosque of Turkey, reflect the unique architectural style of both countries.
