The Willendorf Venus is Austria's most famous and valuable find from
the later Palaeolithic age. A very special stamp has been created to
commemorate this outstanding object.
The stamp is said to be unique as a special three-dimensional effect
has been applied which makes the Venus appear particularly vividly.
Details on how this has been achieved have not yet been released, and
so far I have not seen the stamp myself. The photographs I have seen
apparently do not do the stamp justice.
