Background. Games of the XXIX Olympiad held in Beijing, capital of China, from 8 to 24 August 2008. Belarus was represented by 181 sportsmen in competitions in 26 sports.
In June 2010 the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne decided to drop all charges in the use of drugs in the Olympics in Beijing, addressed to Vadim Devyatovskiy and Ivan Tikhon and return them to win medals - silver and bronze respectively.
After the decision of the court of Belarus on the basis of the Beijing Olympics finished in 15 place overall standings of the 204 countries participating in the Games. 30 athletes won 19 medals: 4 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze.
